The Live for 24 Foundation along with The University of Tampa Athletic Department is hosting The 2nd Annual Livefor24 5K/Mile Relay on Saturday, October 19, 2019 on the beautiful University of Tampa campus in Downtown Tampa, FL. Race proceeds will allow the Live for 24 Foundation to continue to provide life-enriching opportunities to deserving youth in Tampa Bay through meaningful service and scholarship. Participants are welcome to run, walk or stroll their way through campus on a scenic 3.1-mile course that includes a portion of the race along side the Hillsborough River. In addition to the 5K, this year we have added Melissa’s Mile Relay, an event where participants will have the chance to form a team of 4 runners, each to complete 1 of 4 laps around Pepin Field track in a team race. Runners will need to register together as a team of 4 for this event.
The 5K race will be chip timed and begin promptly at 8:00 am with Melissa’s Mile Relay following at 9:30am. A family friendly race party will be held at Pepin Field starting at 6:30am and will include food, refreshments, music, bounce houses and local vendor tents to enjoy.
Registration for the 5K includes a dri-fit race shirt, finisher metal, swag bag and free food and drinks. Registration for the Mile Relay includes dri-fit race shirt, swag bag and free food and drinks.
Packet Pick-Up will be conveniently located at Pepin Field on race day beginning at 6:30am, or on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4 – 7 pm at Fit2Run at International Plaza.
THE COURSE
Participants are welcome to run, walk or stroll their way through campus on a scenic 3.1 mile course that includes a portion of the race along side the Hillsborough River. A water station in Plant Park will provide not only hydration, but music and fun to celebrate the half way point of the 5K. Special motivational signs made by AVID Students from Rampello Downtown Partnership will be displayed along course as well as mile markers commemorating 3 individuals who are special to The Live for 24 Foundation.
Melissa’s Mile Relay will be held at Pepin Field track where spectators and fans can relax in the stands and cheer on their favorite teams.
LIVE FOR 24 RACE PARTY!
Join us starting at 6:30 AM, before, during and after the races for a very special race party! We will have music, food, bounce house, beach volleyball and vendors for the whole family to enjoy.

FAQs
Where is parking for the race?
Parking is free and located in the West Parking Garage off North Blvd, directly across from Pepin Field.
Will there be awards?
The top 3 male and female finishers in each age category of the 5K will receive metals and recognition at the awards ceremony at the race event. All runners will receive finisher metals.
Are jogging strollers welcome?
Yes!
Are dogs welcome?
No, for the safety of all runners dogs are not permitted to run the course.
What time do the festivities begin?
The Live for 24 Race Party, Packet Pick-Up and Registration will begin at 6:30AM. The 5K will begin promptly at 8:00 AM and Melissa’s Mile Relay at 9:30AM. The Race Party will be going on throughout the entire morning.
